CLP Power QCC Convention Panel Interview

I was honor to be VIP judge of the annual CLP Power big event named “CLP Power QCC Convention” and performed panel interview on 1 Nov 2017.  To encourage innovation and creativity, and improve quality throughout the organization, CLP launches the Quality Control Circle Convention (QCC) to provide a platform for staff to submit creative ideas to improve processes, procedures and operations. Outstanding ideas are developed into solutions which help enhance continuous improvement and team spirit in the company.  We took judges photo during lunch.

One of projects was related to predict the life of transformer insulating paper using DGA test (methanol as marker).

In 2003, I was consultant to evaluate their transformer oil sampling method.  At the time, I worked with Mr. Y.T. Chan (Engineer I, CLP) (who is HKSQ member). I had just heard that he retired yesterday.

I also worked with CLP staff on-site to collect transformer oil for DGA test.

CLP staff collected transformer oil

And then they tested it in the laboratory.

During this project, I introduced my junior classmate (Amos) in BCH Dept., CityU into their Insulating Oil Testing & Quality Assessment Centre.  After one or two years, he joined in government laboratory.

Time is flying!
