The TecONE seminar named “How
does Creative Design Add Value to your Innovative Technology” was organized by Hong
Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) on 17th March
2016. ARTOP GROUP is one of Science Park
companies shared how to add value to product with industrial design that took
account of aesthetics, usability, ergonomics and so forth, to demonstrate why
creative design could optimize product function, style and appearance for
better commercial value.
The first speaker was Mr. Savio
Lai (Operating Director, ARTOP GROUP) and he introduced their company background
to us. The design service process of
ARTOP were Orientation (定位), Design (設計), Achieve (實現) and Value (價值).
Then he shared many projects from
their different customer and Huawei was one of their long-term customers and
their cooperation started for design first commercial 3G mobile phone since
2004.
The second speaker was Mr. Keung (姜) (Chief Designer, ARTOP GROUP) and his topic was Mutual Benefit Design (共生的設計).
Firstly, he explained the Product
1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 to us below.
Product 1.0 – It depends on
efficiency through resource competition.
Product 2.0 – It focuses on Product
Quality and target customer.
Product 3.0 – It considers on
Individual experience through internet and big data analysis.
Then Mr. Keung compared the
economic, organization and man to explain their management philosophy. He also mentioned six resource plates included
Investment, co-work spare, training, internet technology, research and product
chain design.
After that Mr. Keung explained
that the role of traditional designer was only the part of research. But modern designer needed to consider the
whole industrial chain from market development to research to sale and
maintenance.
Finally, Mr. Keung briefed the 2
hour Shenzhen Resource Region in which included all supply chain for your
innovative product realization.
