Team Synergy and Creative Problem Solving Workshop

LMI academy was invited to provide a Team Synergy and Creative Problem Solving Workshop from 14 to 15 July 2015 (2 half days). I was one of participants and would like to summarize what we learnt from the workshop. Mr. Dick Yip (Principal Consultant, LMI) was our trainer. Firstly, he introduced DiSC Personality Profile which was a group of psychological inventories developed by John Geier and based on the 1928 work of psychologist William Moulton Marston.

Then Mr. Dick Yip asked us to separate into four groups based on your character you think. Firstly, he asked us to separate into two groups between Active and Passive. After that each group separated again into Task-oriented or People-oriented.

The first characteristic named “The Driver” (D) in the area of Active & Task (Dominant). Their characters relate to control, power and assertiveness.

The second characteristic named “The Influencer” (I) in the area of Active & People (Influencing). Their characters relate to social situations and communication.

The third characteristic named “The Stabilizer” (S) in the area of Passive & People (Steady). Their characters relate to patience, persistence and thoughtfulness.

The last characteristic named “The Creative Thinker” (C) in the area of Passive & Task (Compliant). Their characters relate to structure and organization.

The Distinguishing behaviors of DiSC are showed in the following table.

Finally, we performed the group drama to solve some conflict among different people’s characteristics.
