HKSQ Student Project Competition 2011 - Presentation

The HKSQ student project competition offers an opportunity for students to work on an actual industrial case and propose resolution. This allows them to gain experience of resolving an industrial problem. The competition included three sessions. The first sessions was problems selection which problems were designed and explained by sponsor company (e.g. TDK-EPC Hong Kong Ltd. in 2011). The second session was factory visit and the last session was presentation of suggested solutions.

After the presentation rule mentioned by Mr. Karson Chui (HKSQ ex-chairman), the HKSQ Student Project Competition 2011 presentation started on 2 April 2011.

The first presentation team (Group 3) was come from HKUST and the selected problem was "Eliminating mixing in the backend process".

The second presentation team (Group 4) was come from HKUST and the selected problem was "Utilizing SPC in peel strength control".

The third presentation team (Group 2) was also come from HKUST and the selected topic was "Appraisal cost reduction".

After the tea break, the presentation was continued.

The fourth presentation team (Group 1) was come from HKU and topic was also "Appraisal cost reduction".

The last presentation team (Group 5) was come from PolyU and the selected problem to be solved was "Eliminating mixing in the backend process".

There were four judges. (From the first line left: Dr. Richard Cheung (HKSQ), Ms. Rebecca Yip (TDK-EPC), Mr. YC Chau (TDK-EPC) and Mr. Karson Chui (HKSQ)).

Before result announcement, Mr. YC Chau (President, TDK-EPC) shared his experience to students. Then Mr. Chau was invited to present the prize to each winner.

The 2nd Runner Up was Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Group 2).

The 1st Runner Up was The Hong Kong University (Group 1).

The Champion was The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Group 5).

Then I represented HKSQ to present souvenir to Mr. YC Chau and other supporter in TDK-EPC Hong Kong Ltd.
