InnoAsia 2010

Inno Asia 2010 (three-day conference from 24th to 26th November 2010) focuses on technology, innovation and commercialization in connection with developments in energy optimization, digital living, life sciences and telecommunications. It aims at providing opportunities for entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, the Pearl River Delta and the Asia region for market promotion and business collaboration, as well as, to learn from the world renowned experts and to share with industries and practitioners.


The theme “Innovate for a Sustainable World” was adopted by InnoAsia 2010 organized by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

The first day program named “Smart City Conference” was held in Charles K Kao Auditorium in HKSP. I only attended one of topics entitled “Design on Green Agenda – Masdar Zero Carbon City” at 12:00pm. The following photos showed some interested ideas.

The speaker was Mr. Michael Ng (Partner, Foster + Partners) and he introduced their design for 40 years of sustainability.


Mr. Ng introduced “Foster + Partners” criteria for Sustainable Design included “Site and Climatic Response”, “Form and Massing”, “External Enclosure”, “Internal Configuration”, “Environmental System”, “Energy and Water” and “Materials”.


Triangle of Sustainable Design was discussed.


Some interested Green Buildings and Energy Saving Designs were shown.

Mr. Ng announced the MASDAR Institute of Science and Technology was opened in October 2010.


After the morning section, a Panel Discussion entitled “Eco-City” was performed.


InnoAsia 2010 has many different topics in this three days conference included Hong Kong VC/Angel Conference, InnoApp Digital Living Forum, Biotecnology Forum, Networks & Coding Forum, etc.
